The only apparent correlation is increasing frequency of crashes as available disk space decreases. 30% would seem to be the critical figure. (Yes... we do purge data on a regular basis) That shouldn't be correlated. If it really is, I would have to guess that it's related to the disk subsystem.

I wonder how many people like to open up a bunch of MSIE windows, and then don't understand why their system crashes? you try to make it work anyhow, if the vendor supplied drivers aren't stable (many of them aren't), etc., you will get a lot of BSODs and you will have to reinstall Win2000 on a regular basis.

Linsux as a desktop platform
The system crashes on a regular basis (every fourty minutes or so), we have NO audio device or drivers, our RAM is significantly lower than what we paid for, as is our HD space. The graphics consisted of 8colours, and one very large resolution setting. Does this sound like an $1800.00 system?

I don't know why you worry about how often your system crashes if no one in your office ever does any work; your company has deeper problems than OS stability if that's the case.
